Engineered Hardwood

Engineered Hardwood

Engineered hardwood flooring suits today’s fashion trend for wider width flooring. More dimensionally stable than solid hardwood, this flooring is constructed with wood layers. The top layer (the “wood veneer”) is 100% natural hardwood, available in a variety of species. BreezeWood Floors’ engineered flooring boasts an above average thickness wear layer of 5mm of solid Ontario hardwood veneer. The bottom layer is made from layers of plywood that crisscross in different directions. The engineered construction creates a floor that is less likely to expand and contract when exposed to shifts in moisture, humidity and temperature. This makes engineered hardwood floors a great option in rooms that are subject to moisture (like basements) or over concrete. In comparison, solid hardwood flooring is made from 100% hardwood with each board being a single solid piece of wood. Solid hardwood flooring is a timeless classic valued for its beauty, authenticity and durability and is a great option when used in the correct application.

Engineered Hardwood Flooring Backed by Industry-Leading Warranties

The most durable engineered hardwood floors are a matter of species and quality of finish. All BreezeWood prefinished engineered floors are top-coated with a UV-cured Nano Ultra-Matte sheen for a low gloss, resilient finish covered by our industry-leading 35 year finish wear warranty. At BreezeWood Floors we stand behind our products. With over 50 years of hardwood expertise we are proud to offer some of the best warranties around so you can be sure that these truly Canadian floors will stand the test of time. We warranty our Nanotech and Nanotech Ultra Matte hardwood floors with a Full Lifetime Structural Integrity Warranty and a 35 Year Full Finish Wear-Layer Warranty (Residential). Structural Integrity means that BreezeWood flooring products will remain free from defective milling and grading for as long as the original purchaser owns the house.   Hardwood flooring, being a natural product, will continue to expand and contract through normal heating and non-heating seasons, so care must be taken to maintain a suitable home environment year-round.  Most wood flooring will perform best when your home is kept between 30% and 50% relative humidity and 18° to 24°C in temperature. Our Finish Wear-Layer Warranty warrants that your floor finish will not wear through or separate from the wood for a full 35 years from date of purchase, when used under normal residential traffic conditions.   This warranty covers BreezeWood solid and engineered hardwood flooring prefinished with a UV cured Nanotech or Nanotech Ultra Matte finish. Learn More (PDF)
