Embrace Authenticity: The Unmatched Allure of Real Hardwood Floors

They say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. However, when it comes to wood floors, there’s a timeless beauty that only lies in authenticity.

A walk through any big box home renovation retailer quickly shows you that not only are ‘wood-look’ vinyl products everywhere these days but some of them do a pretty good job of fooling the eye…at least, initially.

There are, however, so many reasons why real hardwood floors are the far superior choice for your home.

The Authentic Charm

Imagine stepping into a space adorned with the warm, inviting embrace of real hardwood. The textures, hues, and intricate grains tell a story unique to each plank and to each tree from which they came. Unlike wood-look products that attempt to mimic this charm, real hardwood holds an authenticity that captivates hearts and eyes alike. That warm, inviting feeling one gets from real hardwood cannot be imitated.

A Touch of Nature

Crafted from nature, real hardwood floors breathe life into any environment and are a key component of the popular home design trend of biophilic design. Biophilic design seeks to create a connection and a sense of harmony between your home and the natural world outside The tactile connection to nature found in real wood flooring is unmatched. By manufacturing floors made from the great outdoors, BreezeWood can help you bring the great outdoors into your home.

Speaking of ‘breathing life’ into your home’s environment, choosing hardwood flooring for your home over other flooring products can actually improve the health of your home’s air by reducing allergens, such as dust and mould.

Because of the chemicals and materials used during its manufacturing, Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP) and other ‘wood look’ products can emit various levels of Volatile Organic Chemicals (VOCs) into your home’s air for a period after initial installation. These toxic substances are harmful to the air quality of the immediate environment and can cause respiratory problems over time.

BreezeWood’s hardwood products are manufactured with no VOCs or formaldehyde and therefore, they will not off-gas harmful chemicals into your home’s environment.

Enduring Durability

A hallmark of quality, real hardwood floors is that they exhibit a strength that stands the test of time. Unlike wood-look alternatives, they’re not bound by the limitations of engineered materials.

While ‘wood look’ LVP products typically last 10-20 years, they cannot be refinished once they are worn out or damaged and must be replaced.

All of BreezeWood’s hardwood flooring products can be refinished, including our engineered hardwood, which is certified by the National Wood Flooring Association’s (NWFA) Engineered Wood Flooring Refinishable Program. This means that, due to the industry-leading 5mm thick, real wood veneer on our engineered hardwood flooring, it can be refinished 2-3 times in its lifetime–same as our solid hardwood products.

With proper care, genuine hardwood floors can be enjoyed for generations, making them a long-term sound investment for your home.

Character that Deepens

Each scratch, dent, and mark on a real hardwood floor becomes a chapter in its narrative. These imperfections endow the floor with character that grows richer over time, a visual testament to the life it has embraced.

Wood-look products lack this evolving story, often leaving interiors with a static, manufactured appearance. Instead of getting better with age, fake wood-look floors simply age and need to be replaced long before genuine hardwood floors.

Eco-Friendly

The main ingredient used in the manufacture of wood-look LVP products is petroleum, a nonrenewable resource. Polyvinyl chloride or PVC is the technical name for the vinyl found in flooring materials. During the manufacturing of these flooring products, many toxins are produced, such as dioxins, ethylene dichloride and vinyl chloride, all of which can persist in the environment for a prolonged period and cause serious harm to the environment and to people exposed to them.

Wood, however, is a renewable resource. Harvesting trees to manufacture hardwood flooring actually has a very minimal effect on the environment, when it’s managed carefully and when sustainability is made a priority.

Since all of the wood to manufacture BreezeWood’s hardwood flooring is locally sourced and sustainably harvested by our affiliate sawmill, Townsend Lumber, located no more than 150 meters from our flooring factory, our products do not travel thousands of kilometers to be manufactured and finished, This gives BreezeWood Hardwood Flooring one of the lowest carbon footprints in the industry.

Our commitment to keeping a minimal carbon footprint is reflected in the essence of our authentic hardwood floors.

At BreezeWood Hardwood Flooring, we take tremendous pride in manufacturing Ontario’s most sustainable and authentic hardwood floors. So, when choosing flooring for your home, it’s wise to not only consider the look of the floor, but also the impact it can have on the environment and your family.

Elevate your spaces with the allure that only true hardwood can provide – an allure that’s not just underfoot, but ingrained in every natural fiber of real hardwood.
